How can you reduce the number of meetings required by your teams and make them more efficient?

To cut down the number of meetings, encourage the use of phone calls and emails to communicate information. Ensure that meetings start and stop on time. Facilitate conversations so that everyone has a chance to speak, understand and (somewhat) agree with the agenda. 

 

Communication Is Essential

Whether or not the organization is in the midst of sweeping economic change, you need to keep everyone informed on key changes. 

Keep your teams up to speed on any change in processes. Ensure clear feedback both ways and allow your teams to voice their opinions without fear.

Keeping your team informed will energize them.

Keep Presentations To The Point

The basic rule for presentations is to keep them short and to the point. In a low context culture like the one in the United States, it is important to get to the point straight away.

Don’t waste your time with jokes and trying to build rapport. Those methods work better in a high context culture like in India or the Middle East.

Your audience doesn’t want to waste time. Get right to down to business.

 

Finally, be aware that there is a vast amount of information around you. Seek help where you can.

What worked for others might work for you. And if it doesn’t, it gives you a point of reference to solve other management issues.
