With Thanksgiving just a week away, now’s the time to get organized, whether you’re the owner of a successful business or an entrepreneur who’s just beginning to think about going into business on your own. Either way, Thanksgiving can be stressful, and getting organized now can save time and stress later on.
Last Minute Projects
Now is the time to get all of your last minute projects lined up, sent out, or finished before the holiday hits. Not only do you not want to have to work on Thanksgiving, but you also don’t want to be the boss assigning your employees or contractors last minute rush projects.
On the home front, if you still have a lot of Thanksgiving to-dos left, including shopping for food, now’s the time to get it done.
Making Sure Everyone’s On the Same Page
Now’s also the time to ensure that everyone is on the same page for the Thanksgiving schedule. Again, whether at work or with friends and families, nail down any loose ends and make sure everyone knows what the plan is for the day before Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Day, and the following Friday and weekend. If you run a business, holiday hours should be clear. If you’re hosting people, hours that you’re entertaining should be clear. This can help to avoid any last minute kerfuffle.
Organize Time to Relax
Finally, don’t forget that the holidays are a great time to relax, so don’t spend all of your time running around. Instead, take advantage of today to plan some time for you to relax – the more you get done in advance, the less stress you’ll have day of, and the better you’ll feel about some you time.
