Take A Break From Digital Devices
Have you heard of the digital-sabbath concept? Pick any day of the week and make it ‘digital-device-free’ day. On that day, you are encouraged to not check your phone, email, watch Netflix, or use Bluetooth devices.
You will see the benefits of this approach only when you practice other forms of reflection in the time now saved. So pull out a pen and paper and write down your thoughts. Spend some time meditating and reflecting on your life.
You will notice how difficult it is to unplug and stop thinking about the things that need to get done and the challenges in your life that need solutions.
Only with practice can you calm your brain and quiet your mind. When you do, solutions come to you much faster. Your life will be a lot more tranquil and you will have the capacity to deal with bigger issues.
Go on, try it for a few weeks and see if it makes a difference. After all, the most you will miss is a few updates from friends about clothes they are wearing, what food they are eating and what parties you are missing.
