Things to Try Instead of Mediation
Want as you might, some people simply cannot meditate without a lot of practice and guidance. If you are one of those people for whom meditation does not come easy, you may want to try these things instead to improve mindfulness and energy:
Watching a Sunrise or Sunset
When you watch a sunrise or sunset, you are focused on something very specific for a notable amount of time.
While it is not always as mindful as meditation – particularly if highly intensive or if done while listening to blaring music – exercising can be a great way to get in touch with your body and mind and improve energy. Try moving in a way that is peaceful, such as yoga which brings brain and energy balance, hand stands for inversion and balancing, walking to get into forward momentum, or swimming to improve cardio and stamina.
Even if you don’t consider yourself to be a great writer, spending time getting your thoughts on paper – or even creating a piece of fiction- can be a fantastic release.
Working with the earth in an intimate way is one of the most instinctual things that you can do and yet something that people often don’t make time for. Try gardening for a meditative experience that will ease stress.

- Not sure what I was going for with this one but I do know that having my picture taken isn’t always something I am super comfortable with. I completely respect those who do love having their photo taken. . So the story I’m going with for this is that there are many things in our world that needs looking in a different direction. Sometimes it’s more looking up or ahead but right now everyone seems to be looking down and away. . Look at people around you. Notice what’s happening and smile and don’t be like everyone else.
