We are spoilt for choice with the numerous options to meet people. Travel and increased mobility make it even more difficult to sustain long-term relationships.
So men and women begin to form a list of characteristics that they would like their partner to have. Your partner might match that list perfectly but you might then resent that relationship for being too perfect.
A better approach is to make a sensible decision and commit to one person. If your partner of choice matches 80% of your criteria, that is a great start.
The rest depends on how committed you can be to this person and how safe/secure they feel being in a relationship with you.

Relationships are about relating. When you can relate to people better, your relationships automatically improve.
Start by fixing your relationship with yourself. When you are content and happy being single, you are more likely to be happy and content in a relationship. It has to start with you knowing that you are enough. The other person can add to your joy but you do not need another human to justify your existence and purpose on this planet.
Conflicts emerge when one partner is unhappy about their own state of life. This state of unhappiness is then reflected and blamed on the partner.
