Maximizing your efficiency is important, even if you are not someone who considers yourself to be very busy or pressed for time. When you do work in the most efficient manner as possible, you are more productive and effective, leaving room for other activities. The following considers areas in your life where you can become more efficient and productive, saving time and creating opportunities:

Stop Checking Social Media

Social media is a huge time waster and most people who have social media accounts are in the habit of checking those accounts dozens of times throughout the day. If you want to improve your efficiency, tell yourself that you will only check your social media account one time per day. Sound impossible? Make it a challenge.

Focus on One Thing at a Time

Another way that you kill your efficiency is by trying to focus on multiple things at once. Rather than multitasking, try to focus on only one thing at a time. By starting and completely finishing one thing, you can give that thing your full attention, making you more productive.

Don’t Leave Everything Until the Last Minute

You already know that you shouldn’t procrastinate but leaving everything until the last minute is a very inefficient use of time. For example, if you need to do 10 hours of extra work this week, doing all 10 hours in a day will leave you burnt out, and will probably diminish the quality of your work. But, if you commit to doing two hours four days a week, and one hour two days a week, you’ll be more focused, more productive, and have more free time later.
