What if the words we use are actually limiting us before our actions even have a chance to prove otherwise?
Science shows us that repeated thought patterns become hardwired beliefs. Using limiting language becomes a state of mind and before long, a belief. If unchecked, such a belief system will prevent you from even trying to succeed at any venture.
Limiting Words That Prevent Success
The one word you will hear most often is, “can’t.” It is the one word that drags down dreamers and pulls back visionaries. It is the one single word that has stopped many people in their tracks and prevented the fulfillment of dreams.
It has become a pattern in your mind. The words, “I can’t” seem to effortlessly drip into your consciousness before you have a chance to make a choice. And as a result, you won’t even try.
Replace Limiting Words With Possibilities
Now, imagine if rather than saying ‘I can’t do something…’, you started saying, ‘I haven’t succeeded… yet.’
The self-defeat of the can’t is replaced with the optimism and strength of the ‘yet.’
Using the word, ‘yet’ indicates future intent. So you are not ready to give up. Forget about throwing in the towel, you are going to work past the obstacles and find the path forward.
