Think of a time you failed. What contributed to your failure? For some, it would be lack of money or lack of the right connections, perhaps lack of time.
Whatever excuse you can think of, you’re basically claiming that your failure was caused by lack of resources. But the real answer, as Tony Robbins says, is not the lack of resources but a lack of resourcefulness.
Here are three strategies to be more resourceful:
Do The Right Thing At The Right Time
Timing is everything.
Starting a new business when you are in debt and about to have your third child is perhaps doing the right thing but at the wrong time.
Is this the right time to start the new venture you have been planning? Or perhaps you are contemplating starting at a new company when the timing is not quite right to make a corporate move yet.
Change Your Story
We create excuses for why we fail. These excuses become stories and these stories, in turn, become beliefs. If you tell yourself often enough that you cannot do something, you will come to believe that is truly impossible for you.
Instead of saying, “I don’t have money,” start looking at what you do have. It wouldn’t be the first time that a desperate individual sold all their material belongings to invest in a dream.
If you are desperate, you will find a way. So, what’s the real story behind your failure?
Give up the story that has become a limiting belief.
Get In The Right State For Success
When you are in a peak state or flow state, things work out for you more than if you are in an emotionally uncertain state.
