Visualize Your Success And Failure
Form a clear picture in your mind of what success and failure would look like. Attach high levels of meaning and emotion to the results.
Schedule practice sessions in your calendar and spend five minutes at the start visualizing what a perfect session would look like.
Go a step further and mentally prepare yourself for worst case scenarios as well.
Involve Experts In Your Practice Routines
To assess the areas you need to focus on, practice and compete with others who are experts in the field.
First, you’ll need to study what the experts are doing in that field. Next, you need to set goals to measure your progress and ask for feedback from other experts.
Rather than settling for your current goals, use this feedback to raise the bar with higher level goals.
Actively Seek Accountability
Most people give up on goals due to a lack of accountability. Become accountable to someone who will hold you to your word.
Hire a coach or ask a mentor for regular feedback sessions to keep you accountable.
Improve your competency in a skill through deliberate practice and finally, teach others the skills you are learning. Adding this step will further cement the gains from incorporating the principles of deliberate practice.
