After all, how many times have you failed to respond to or handle all of your notifications and emails by the end of the day, meaning that you wake up to unfinished work from the day before the next morning? Here are some tips for ensuring that you are able to get everything done related to your emails and notifications for increased productivity:
Don’t Check Things As They Come In
This may sound counterintuitive; wouldn’t the best way to stay on top of your work be to check it the second it comes in? No – this serves as a distraction and leaving you trying to fend off multiple demands for your attention and spread yourself too thin at once. Turn off your notifications, and stop checking your email every five minutes. Instead, allocate a specific time of your day – i.e. an hour at 11 a.m. and an hour at 4 p.m. to check emails.
Don’t Make Putting It Off an Option
It’s something that everyone does. It’s easy to say, “I’ll handle this tomorrow,” instead of addressing it now. Every time you put something off, you create more work for yourself at a later date. Stop putting things off; commit to taking care of business at the allocated time, and then reward yourself with reduced stress and relaxation later.
