If you want to accomplish your goals, there are certain steps to take to streamline the process and improve chances that you will, indeed, achieve what you set out to do. Here are a few tips for accomplishing your goals (perfect timing, as New Year’s is a month away!):
Reassess Your Goals – Do They Really Matter to You?
Guess what? If you don’t actually care about your goals, there is a pretty good chance that you won’t end up accomplishing them. If you set a goal because of someone else’s wishes, rethink it. Set goals that matter to YOU.
Create a Strategy – Baby Steps All the Way
Now that you know that you certainly do want to achieve your goals, the next is to develop a strategy. Think big, but start small. For example, say you want to save $10,000 by the end of next year. You know that that means you need to save about $833 a month, or about $210 dollars a week. Break it down even further – $30 bucks a day. You can do that, right? That’s practically what you spend on lunch and coffee.
Hold Yourself Accountable
If you don’t have a system in place for holding yourself accountable to your goals, ask a friend or partner to help you. Maybe they will even join in on the goal, too!
