A simple question – are you living your life according to your core values?
You are the only person who can decide what you are destined to become. Because your life is a reflection of what you believe you deserve.
The first step in figuring out why you are not living the life you want is to understand WHY you live the way you do now.
Clarify Why You Are Living The Way You Do
How to get your WHY? Pick a current goal and explore why it is important to you.
What about ___________ is important to me?
When you get the answer, ask yourself why that response is important to you. Go at least 7 questions deep.
It exposes:
- Key events that shaped you (often from your childhood).
- Key beliefs/values you hold about the world.
If you get to the CORE of WHY you’re doing what you’re doing, you can then realize just HOW IMPORTANT that things is to you.
This is the reason our performance doesn’t come from the CORE.
Simplify Your Life To Get To The Core
Simplifying our choices is one way to navigate the complex environment of modern life.
Life occurs in EVENTS and EXPERIENCES not in thoughts. However, most people develop a tolerance for wasting their time. So, they become focused on TRANSACTION not TRANSFORMATION.
Therefore, the fastest way to get to your core is to ELIMINATE everything that is a distraction and is non-essential.
For actions you cannot remove, try delegating or automating those tasks.
Create Strong Boundaries To Protect Your Core
Finally, when you have cleared up your time, people are going to start making demands on your freed up time. Because you can, now you have no excuse to say no to helping people.
Say ‘no.’ Create boundaries to protect the free time you have now created.
Now is the time for you to create the life you want to live.
