Simple Ways To Be Fearless & Live Life On Your Terms – Part 2

Life is too short to live afraid. Living fearless creates more time for the things that really matter to you.

Each day spent worrying simply reinforces your fear and anxiety. Do you really want to waste another day justifying why you cannot live the life you desire?

Or, are you ready to face the fears and overcome them?

Get Close To Your Fear

What areas of life are dominated by fear? Is it triggered through a tricky work situation, romantic interest, social interactions or some other personal challenge?

Take a minute and identify the area that you causes you the greatest amount of fear.

When you know how fear impacts you, it is easier to focus your energy in that area and push back. You will need to start re-framing your limiting beliefs. Fight back against the thoughts that remind you of past failures and restrict you from acting on that fear. Your imagination has no limits – let it guide you to the visualization of the conquered fear.

What would it look like if you were not afraid in this area?

How would your life be if this fear was not holding you back?

Who has the control?

What will you do about it?

The reality is that you have control over your life and your thoughts. Therefore, you get to decide your personal value – not somebody else.

What Is Your Current Reality?

Focus on staying present in the moment when anxiety and worry tempts you to start worrying about the future.

Develop a daily mindfulness practice to stay overboard.

Reflect on your current reality, sit with the thoughts for a moment and accept them. Breathe deeply and shift your focus from your thoughts to your breathing. You will notice that your fears no longer have the leverage to control your mind.

Fear thrives in a divided mind. Bring clarity and focus in your thoughts. Stick to the visualization you imagined in the process described above.

The past is history and the future is uncertain. Fear exists in these two extremes. The only thing you can control is the present. Stay in the present moment and focus on what you can do today. This is the best use of your energy and time.

You Are Fearless When You Have Nothing To Lose

Fear is strongly tied to feelings of loss. Indecision sets in when you are paralysed by thoughts of what you could lose in a particular course of action. Fear causes analysis paralysis.

Fight back against this inertia and be decisive. Nothing changes in your life without making tough decisions and doing something about it. Avoid getting stuck in weighing options and figuring out the pros and cons from dawn until dusk. Give your options some consideration and then swing into action.

Action is the best medicine against the paralysis caused by fear.

It is a bigger failure to not try than to do something and get it wrong. Delaying decisions puts your life on hold – causing the ‘stuck’ feeling.

What would you do right now if:
1. You knew you could not fail?
2. You had the abilities, confidence and skills you need?
3. You had no fear about taking action and making decisions?

You might fail 4 out of 5 times but imagine the difference that one decision could make when it works out? Life is not about winning or losing, it’s about taking charge of your life and assuming responsibility for your actions.

Remember, you are the master and commander of your fate. Let fear guide you to the actions you need to take instead of restricting you from the path you need to follow.

Stop thinking about fear. Go do something about it.
