Everyone Sheevaun here, Driving for Your Success and new topic! new day! new idea! Is that you could be creating from what you don’t want. Most people actually tend to create from what they don’t want. When I’ll ask a coaching client or a company that I’m helping demand to our, I’ll say, well what do you want? And they’ll start saying all of the things they don’t want. And the fascinating thing, all the things that they are saying that they don’t want, they’re actually getting. And so the challenge that you face is to be super precise and clear about asking for what you want. Generally we’re not in the habit of asking for what we do want. We have actually been told parents, family, teachers, to really stop asking for what we do want because it’s too much. It’s too greedy. It’s too this. It’s too that. Well, you know, the only way to get what you want is to ask for what you want.
So where in your world might you be asking for what you don’t want? One of the ways that you could be asking for what you don’t want is saying and saying things like complaining style or being frustrated about a particular type of client that has come to you and they’re paying you and you are over delivering and you’re complaining or you are feeling upset that is actually not asking for what you want because you have the client. That’s beautiful. But you were now telling the client, Nope, you know what my work, even though I’m over-delivering, it’s just, it’s a bad match. And no wonder that clients may fall away. You’re going to have to find the way to speak about what you do want, more positive, more forward thinking, more influential. And if you’re not charging enough, then that’s on you. And that’s another video way back in the series of Driving for Your Success.
But if you are delivering and you’re over-delivering, amen. Good on you. But let’s make sure that you’re not out of integrity with what you’re saying about it and how you are over-delivering it.
