Increasing your motivation is not the result of a formulaic process. Everyone has a different set of motivating factors.
To make the complicated process simpler, it helps to break it down to three general steps:
1. What Is The End Goal That Requires Motivation?
It is more likely that you will achieve a goal when it is measurable.
Get specific.
What is the outcome you are after? The more specific you get in defining what you want, the more likely it is that you will achieve that end result.
It’s the difference between these two statements: I want to be wealthy and I want to own three properties that generate ‘x’ amount of income after ‘z’ years of investment.
2. Why Do You Want To Achieve This Goal?
Are your goals something you ‘should’ do rather than something you ‘must’ do? Then your goals are not aligned to your life’s purpose.
You need to have clear reasons why a particular goal or outcome is important to you. The ‘why’ is more important than the ‘how.’
Perhaps you want to increase your wealth because it increases your opportunities and quality of life. Associate a goal with the broader picture of how you want your life to look.
3. What Are The Actions Required To Get There?
Finally, you will need to take decisive action in realizing these goals (click HERE).
And when you have decided on a timeline, challenge yourself to think bigger. As Peter Thiel says, “How can you achieve your 10-year goal in 6 months?” You might be surprised what a big difference creativity can make to achieving your goals faster.
