Culture, according to an organizational psychologist, eats strategy for breakfast.
Do you have a personal culture that encourages success?
First, it tells the world (and yourself) who you are. It defines you. It defines where you work, what you do for a living, how you spend your money and the clothes you wear.
Your personal culture defines what success means to you.
Finally, it determines where you are headed.
Feed The Person You Want To Be
Who you are depends largely on what you are feeding yourself.
To create a personal culture of success, you need to start by feeding yourself with the right elements. This would be a good time to take stock of your current friendships, reading list, what videos you consume, and who you spend the most time with.
You are an average of the five people you spend the most time with. The people you spend the most time with have the largest influence on your success story. What influence is your current friend and family circle having on you?
Is it time to let go do some toxic relationships in favor of spending time with people who are positive and will encourage your growth?
Your Personal Culture Of Success Is Your Choice
The initial resistance to any growth desire you have is going to come from within you. In other words, your relationship with yourself is crucial for shaping your success.
We are our worst ‘success enemies.’ Most people are master self-saboteurs who are afraid of the increased responsibilities and expectations that success breeds.
Are you knocking yourself down because you are not as successful as you would like to be? Examine what’s going on behind your thoughts and actions. If your actions are being determined by negative thoughts, it is likely that you are creating a cycle of frustration for yourself. Learn to ease into the journey and be gentle on yourself when you make mistakes. We all make mistakes. People who experience sustained success tend to be kind to themselves and excuse their own faults.
Your Beliefs Dictate Your Actions
When you believe that you can be successful, you are most likely to take action.
Start re-shaping your belief system. Take some time to visualize your success. How would you like your life to look like one, five, ten, and twenty years from now? When you activate your inner vision, you will begin to re-shape the inner beliefs that are restricting you in the present. Once those limiting beliefs change, your desire to take action will follow.
