If you feel yourself getting defensive and ready to react, stop for a moment and consider that there might be some truth to the feedback you are receiving.
While it´s an ego boost when people are happy with our work, it is a greater learning experience when they express dissatisfaction. Pay attention and instead of being frustrated, you might learn something new.
Asking For Negative Feedback Builds Stronger Relationships
Intentionally seeking negative feedback can help in building a stronger bond with your employers, spouse and customers.
Most people want to be listened to. Show them you care about their opinions and ask them how you can improve. And when they offer you negative feedback, listen to them carefully.
Their frustrations might just shift and instead of criticizing, they might turn into lifelong supporters.
