The age of automation is bound to make many current professions obsolete. That is not a cause for concern because as machines take over mundane tasks from humans, it leaves us with a lot of time to pursue other life goals.
Philosophy (literally, “love of wisdom”), teaches us how to make sense of the world. To get a better understanding of how we think and act.
And wisdom separates the good from the great.
You do not need a philosophy degree to be wiser.
Slow Down To Go Fast
There is a global movement called the Slow Revolution that is not a new trend. It is an old lifestyle preference that is making a comeback to combat the hectic pace of modern living.
When you read, take your time instead of rushing through the text. When you speak, think about the words you are using to express yourself. Avoid running from pillar to post in trying to live the life that society demands from you.
Make time to meditate. Be mindful and aware.
In other words, if you want to go faster, slow down.
When you are in a rush, you are more prone to making mistakes and losing perspective.
You cannot afford to skip meditation, silence, and reflection if you are a busy person. These practices become all the more necessary when it seems like life is choking every second out of your time out of you.
Make time today. Breathe deeply, take a walk and think like a philosopher.
