Surround yourself with positive people and experiences.

The relationships that you maintain with others, even coworkers and associates, use energy. Between you and other people, energy is constantly flowing back and forth. As such, you have an important responsibility: to question who gives you energy, who drains it, and who helps to balance it. Those that drain our energy rather than sustain or contribute to it are negative Neds and Nellies.

Getting Away from Negativity

It is essential to distance yourself from negative Neds and Nellies. Not only do these people drain your energy – especially if you are already struggling with confidence and self-actualization – but they can really make you question your self worth. The worst of the negative people can even make you feel unlovable or unworthy. It is important that you realize that this negativity is unacceptable and that you put forth an effective plan for combating negative energy.

Understanding Negativity and Moving Away from It

It is important to realize that most negative people have have their own self worth diminished, maybe by a parent or loved one, as a result of addiction or depression or because of unfortunate experiences. You have an opportunity to confront negativity head on, give positive energy back and then surround yourself with positive people.
