What does it mean to be authentic?
To be authentic means that you live and breathe the things that you:
- Teach;
- Share;
- Inspire in others; and
- Believe.
When you’re not authentic, your actions are outside of and in contrast with yourself and your energy.

Authenticity and kindness often go hand-in-hand: when you are authentically loving, things will go your way; when you are rude and uncaring, a message—even if it’s authentic—will be unheard and undervalued. There’s amazing goodness in the velvet hammer.
Soften Your Messages
Sometimes, even an authentic message can be hard to get across in an authentic way. Consciously think about ways to soften your words. For example, the words, “We need to talk,” can sound kind and loving when said with the proper tone, or harsh and foreboding when said with the wrong one.
Active in Growth
Finally, be available, and be active in your own personal growth. Be authentic in as many areas of your life as you can. When you are, success will fall at your feet.
