How to Know if a Job is Right for You

What are you looking for in the perfect job?
What are you looking for in the perfect job?

Whether you currently have a job and are wondering whether it’s the right fit for you long-term, or if you’re looking for a new job, knowing exactly what’s perfect can be challenging. Consider the following factors when thinking about your future career–

1. What Do You Value?

Working at job where the things that you value are prioritized should be on the top of your criteria list. If you are working somewhere where your coworkers or employer don’t care about the things that you value, or your purpose at your job doesn’t align with your values, look somewhere else.

2. What Type of Work Style Matters To You?

Some people thrive in an office where they are given constant direction and are asked to meet a certain set of expectations. On the other hand, there are some people who thrive most when they are given the freedom to work at their own pace and develop their own process. Which matters to you? Where do you experience more growth?

3. Are You Happy?

Look at your life as it is now and ask, “Am I happy?” If you like your current job and feel satisfied, stay with it until that feeling is gone. If you are dissatisfied and think that that could be changed by a new career, don’t be afraid to make a move.
