Having a Bad Week? These 4 Tips Will Give You a Fresh Start

We’ve all been there. It’s a day or two into the week and things just aren’t going your way.
Maybe your energy is low or you’re having a streak of bad luck. Maybe there are some external
circumstances that aren’t panning out in quite the way you’d hoped.

You start to feel like the whole week is a bust, which can be terribly demotivating, turning into a
self-fulfilling prophecy where your week really does turn out poorly. So what can you do to break the cycle, shift your energy, and achieve better results?

Here are some tips about how to turn a bad week around and get a fresh start.

Tidy Up

It’s no secret that your environment affects your mood. If things around you are dirty, cluttered,
or aesthetically unappealing, it’ll be harder to focus and you’ll begin to feel unbalanced. So if
you’re seeking a fresh start, a great way to begin is to tidy things up a bit. Once your home or
office looks fresh, you’ll start to notice a boost in your mood and a renewed hope that you can
feel fresh, too.

And here’s a pro tip: there is nothing that will make you feel fresh and brand-new as much as
sliding into a bed with clean, freshly laundered sheets after taking a nice, long shower.

Take a Long Salt Bath or Shower

Speaking of showers… While you’re cleaning up your external environment, why not give your body the same fresh start by taking a long, relaxing shower? Not only will this help you wash off the residue of a rough week, but it will also help you breathe and lighten up a bit.

Add two pounds of regular table salt to the bath to start cleansing the energetics off your day, and a cup of magnesium salt (epsom) in addition to allow even more relaxation.

You can even turn it into a bit of a self-care session by adding in a hair or face mask or using
some nice bath oils or salts. You’ll come out of the shower feeling brand new and ready to take on the rest of the week.

Clear Your Head

Now let’s address the internal clutter that may be getting in the way of you having the week you
want. If you have too much on your mind and heart with no way to get it out, you’ll start to feel
bogged down and heavy.

So lighten your load by doing a “brain dump.” In a journal, notebook, voice note, or video,
express your thoughts and feelings. Let go of everything that you’re carrying around with you so you can move on and get a fresh start.

Set New Goals

One of the things that can make our weeks feel like a failure is if we don’t manage to do the things we were planning to. But instead of being too hard on yourself, take a breath and make a new game plan for the rest of the week. What can you realistically accomplish this week without
stretching yourself too thin?

Even if you set a goal as simple as taking a 15-minute walk, continuing to work toward your goals and being able to check items off of your to-do list will set you back on track for a productive, fulfilling week – regardless of how it may have begun. Remember to focus on one goal at a time because your energy and mind only has capacity to help you achieve and
succeed at one at a time.
